Apple is bracing for a massive crowd this Friday as the company officially launches the iPhone Duo, its first venture into the foldable smartphone market. Following a pre-order phase described by many as messy, anticipation has reached a fever pitch among tech enthusiasts hoping to snag the device without a reservation. Speaking with TechRadar, Apple’s Senior Vice President of Marketing Greg Joswiak attempted to ease tensions by confirming that not every single unit was snapped up during the initial wave of orders.
Joswiak noted that while pre-order demand was extraordinary, the company intentionally held back inventory specifically for retail locations. He expressed excitement about having devices available in stores, suggesting that plenty of walk-in customers will leave happy on launch day. This follows an official statement from Apple acknowledging that while stock will be limited, units will be accessible to those visiting physical stores across several major markets including the United States, Canada, the UK, and various European nations.
The atmosphere is expected to be particularly electric at Apple’s iconic Fifth Avenue flagship store in New York City. Joswiak plans to be on-site for the festivities and will likely be accompanied by other top executives such as John Ternus. As fans prepare to queue up early Friday morning, the focus remains on whether these limited quantities can satisfy a customer base clearly hungry for Apple’s latest hardware evolution.
