Warhammer Age of Sigmar players are getting a massive boost in tactical flexibility with the introduction of the Khazalite Holds battletome. This latest update introduces three distinct Armies of Renown, allowing commanders to blend different types of duardin into cohesive, thematic forces. From vengeful magma seekers to high king guards, the expansion focuses heavily on grudge mechanics and synergistic unit combinations that reward strategic positioning on the tabletop.
For those looking to maximize the impact of their centerpiece models, Valankrom’s War Throng offers a powerhouse experience centered on High Kyng Valankrom. By pairing the King and his towering War Throne with Gholems and Valayan Guardians, players can create an almost impenetrable defensive line. In this formation, Gholems act as steadfast bodyguards while Valankrom utilizes his authority to mark enemies for retribution, making any unit brave enough to attack his entourage suffer severe consequences via additional grudge marks.
Players who prefer a more aggressive approach may find their calling with the Fyrd of Fyrepeak. Designed specifically for veterans of the Fyreslayers armies, this group turns every kill into fuel for further rage. Through the Foeseeker heroic trait and unique Ur gold runes, these warriors gain strength as the battle progresses. Whether it is utilizing a Rune of Speed to ensure a devastating charge or spreading grudge marks across the ranks through targeted assassinations, this force is built for total annihilation.
Perhaps most surprising is the Throngankor Alliance, which bridges the gap between ground troops and aerial supremacy by mixing Khazalite Holds with Kharadron Overlords. This alliance allows infantry units to hitch rides on skyvessels, enabling unexpected drops of heavy guardians directly onto enemy lines. The synergy extends to combat tactics through a hammer and anvil strategy where durable ground troops pin enemies in place while flying gunships rain down precision fire from above. All these options arrive in the new battletome available during this Saturday’s pre order event.
